On the 15th of August, 2008 I camped in a campground in Colorado where I heard screams earlier in June of this year.
At the time of the recording the campground had a lot of pine trees, today because of bark beetle destruction all the pines have been cut down and only leave a desecrated campground.
I placed the microphone next to my mirror on the drivers side and ran the cord inside the car and had the recorder on the dash. I covered the little red light with a piece of paper so it hopefully couldn’t be seen. I fell asleep immediately and I had a rather restless night, which is unusual for me. I did not hear anything unusual in the night and took off for Oregon the next day.
1 – at 4 sec and 7 sec you hear me moaning in my sleep.
2 – at 23 sec you can hear the latches on my car door being tried
3 – at 25 sec you hear a mumble or grumble from outside the car. This sound appears to be very similar to some other sound clips I have heard. This is the first recording I have of this type.
And now you know why I sleep in my car instead of a tent.

Hi Stan:
That recording is A-One.
Very creepy and very compelling; the best one in recent recordings out there.
It beats LaMonica’s easy.
Scoftics won’t appreciate it; but others will.
Thanks!

Well, it is very difficult to record any animal that is trying not to make a noise. You must realize I did not see the noise maker, very exciting none-the-less and perhaps only bearable because I did not see the stealthy visitor.
Awesome Stan. I don't sleep in tents either, anymore
I am an ex-infantry soldeir of the U.S. Army. I was once stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington (Tacoma, Washington) 1983. I was on survival training with another soldier in Yakima Valley miles from anyone one night and I heard many of the same sounds that you have played on your recordings. These sounds were very close to our small tent that we were in and let me tell you that we were frighten stiff. We even had live ammo in our M16 rifles but we were afraid if we shot at whatever was out there and didn't kill it we might make it very angry. So we thought better of doing it. It seemed as though it was curious and just checking out our camp site. After about a couple of hours it left because we didn't hear anymore sounds and in the morning we packed up in a hurry and got the hell out of dodge!!! We didn't look for tracks or anything. We had even smelled his odor that was lingering all around before we left. Curtis Hinton Jr.
Very nice! I'm glad to see that Bigfoot is alive and well in 2009. Too many skeptics out there. Next they'll be trying to capture Santa Claus's DNA. Keep up the good work, and keep those doors locked!
