The evening of Tuesday, the 22nd of July 2008 I was in Colorado where I was invited to join a fellow researcher as part of my 48 in ’08 project.
One of the many small lakes in the area.
It was almost dark when I arrived at the site on Tuesday evening. I was concerned about driving down the rutted dirt road with my Toyota, not knowing for sure if I was at the correct location. So I drove back down the road and slept in my car at a small gravel pit. These sounds were picked up at 0330 a.m. I am not quite sure if they are coyote or not.

And then two nights later picked up these distant screams.

These are very interesting! Close to what I’ve heard in Minnesota, around midnight, chatting with family outside the house and had a good fire going. Creepy but, exciting.
These sounds are just like what i hear at my Grandpas house! We always hear them when we have fires and it starts to get a little noisey then them weird sounds start going off! I dont know what it is but it sound just like this! Thats really weird but pretty cool!
I live at 9,000ft in the Mt Evans wilderness area. I have heard noises just like the screams. Last year summer 2013 I couldn’t sleep. I went out and sat on the porch around 1:30 am.Heard the screaming sound repeated several times…I live in Cougar country and hear them frequently.Wasn’t a Puma. I used to raise hybrid wolves.Wasn’t a wolf nor the yippy barky howl of a coyote. It got louder I got spooked and went back inside. I haven’t heard anything like it till today listening to your recorded screams.
Very good, I am surprised you didn’t try to record it with your smart phone.
