Bachelors Grove Cemetery (Chicago, Illinois metropolitan area.)
Recently I was asked to speak at the Illinois MUFON State Meeting at Starved Rock State Park. After giving my presentation I was introduced to John Stephenson who stated that my talk had made him think about some of the activity and things he was finding at Bachelors Grove Cemetery, which is part of the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, Illinois.  John’s website is found at Bachelors Grove.com.
The trail leading into the abandoned Bachelors Cemetery, Chicago metro area.
According to John’s excellent website – Bachelor Grove.com.
“Bachelors Grove Cemetery is well known as one of the most haunted places in all of Chicagoland. This small desecrated graveyard has more unexplained paranormal activities than any other cemetery worldwide.”
Some of the activity John mentioned was –
Bent over trees
Feelings of being watched
Growls
Large nuts or acorns being thrown at witnesses.
Large pyramid structures
Logs being thrown at witnesses.
Logs blocking trails
Tree Twists
Unknown footfalls
Voices
Weird, freaky smells

Possible Howl Recorded
While we were in the middle of the cemetery John was explaining its history to me when several sirens went off. A few seconds later this loud siren type howl started across the four lane road and in the woods up a hill on the other side. Time 10:00 a.m. I wish I would have had my parabolic microphone on it.
I only had my little Sony M-10 (monitoring recorder) running at the time. Not a very good recording, I had to crank up the gain on the first part. But it is the best I could do. Excited was not enough to express how I felt when I realized what it was. It howled three times and then was quiet.

I have already written about the many sasquatch sightings close to cemeteries. Â See:
very interesting. Thank you for sharing
First is the fire siren and then there's the howl that sounds afterward. I wondered about a couple of different things when I heard both sounds. 1. Was it a mimic or 2. The howl heard after the fire siren – was it responding to what they may have mistaken for actual communication?
In the interview, I was fascinated by the "throwing" of a good-sized log which landed three feet from the witness that came out of the surrounding woods. While there may have been experiences where a spirit could be perceived as having thrown the log – I have never heard that kind of action in ghost hunting research. It does, however, strike me as classic bigfoot action.
Regarding the howl heard at the cemetery, on the first Tuesday of every month at 10:00 a.m., many communities here in Northern IL test their emergency sirens. My five dogs, as well as many dogs in our area, respond to these sirens with completely different vocalizations. So, it is possible the howl that was recorded that day was a dog. Just a thought.
Trudy, just so you are aware – when Stan is able to get other recordings like it, using his parabolic mic – hopefully it will be possible to actually analyze these howls when they are experienced again. I've got a sweet dog living next door that howls a lot and of course I've heard other dogs howling. Coyotes have what seems like an unlimited different types of howling that they do. What I usually look for when I'm trying to tell the difference between dogs, coyotes, and potential bigfoot howls is the strength, volume and length of the howls. After listening to this particular howl, I think this area sounds promising for bigfoot activity. That's based on the interview Stan did, as well as the recording he picked up quite by accident during the interview. Stan is just getting started in researching area – and in time we'll have more information and recordings to read and listen to. A recording is never meant to actually prove anything. It would be wonderful if a recording could provide proof. What a recording does is present evidence and leaves it up to us and our ears to decide what it might be. Stan has a huge number of recordings on this site to listen to. If you haven't listened to them yet, do so. They are quite interesting and very informational.
