The evening of the 6th of April, 2011 I was accompanied by Laura Richter, Chris Mason and John Winterbauer,  all of Springfield, Illinois on an evening walk through  my “Main Research Box†here in Central Illinois.

It was one of those quiet nights where you think you hear subtle sounds off in the woods but can’t quite make them out. We did have three incidents of note. Â John describes in the podcast his feeling of being uneasy and a strange tingly sensation. Later Laura gets hit by a possible projectile throw from the woods, and John & Laura explain footsteps stopping and starting and hearing an odd clucking sound.

You do good work, Stan. Since you have a food drop have you thought about putting some food in glass containers that might pick up finger prints? That might give us some interesting information.

Nice recording Stan, very nicely narrated. Regarding the object that hit the woman in the face, being that it was rather small and the woodline was far away it would seem improbable that anything could throw a small object hard enough to traverse the distance without hurting her. Could it have been a flying insect?
We don't have any insects out at night here, but it could have been possible.
I like the way the recording turned out Stan. Nice job. Rolfe, Laura believed it was mud that hit her face and wondered if we had kicked something up from our feet. As Stan said, there were no bugs that night but we're not really sure what hit her. It was just something odd that needed to be noted.
I'm not prepared to say exactly what transpired that night but I do believe there was something strange going on out there in the woods.
